Angela Rosas, Officially the Founder of NONPROFIT Chicas Latinas de Sacramento!

Last night I burnt the chicken I was making for dinner because I was distracted by a lovely letter from the IRS. My first thought was great, more hurdles. But I was wrong, it wasn’t a letter of hurdles or heartbreak, it was a letter of approval! I did it — my organization, Chicas Latinas de Sacramento, is now an OFFICIAL 501(c)3 nonprofit.

Bear with me while I celebrate for a moment…

I received the letter before,

  • Our first board meeting of 2014 (it’s tonight, go figure!) Tonight, we celebrate.
  • I turned 30! February, I celebrate.
  • We celebrate our 5-Year-Anniversary! April, we celebrate (and fund-raise).

Always, we work. This tax exempt status only means one thing, our adventure has just begun.

On the agenda, we’ll be opening board positions VERY soon, building committees, and planning our 5-year-Anniversary. Want in on the fun? Email us at,

Thank you everyone for all your help, support, and talent over the years — we need it now more than ever!

I am the CEO & Founder of the nonprofit Chicas Latinas de Sacramento. For 5 years we existed, worked, and gave in the community, without a budget, without a staff, without a paycheck. It might not “sound” that great being a broke CEO, but I wear that reality proudly. I created, existed and prevailed with nothing. Imagine what I can do with something.

#Network4Cause Monthly Mixers! November Benefits @CDMigrante #CienCenas2013

I’m happy to introduce the new Sacramento monthly mixer series #Network4Cause, hosted by Eric Ratinoff, Attorney and Partner at Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff.

November 12, 2013 will kick-off our first event, benefiting Centro de los Derechos del Migrante, Inc. (Center for Migrant Rights). Together, with Chicas Latinas de Sacramento, we’ll host a Cien Cenas (100 Dinners) at Mayahuel in midtown Sacramento. The #CienCenas2013 Dia de los Muertos campaign seeks we can raise awareness about migrant workers, honor the lives of the men and women who have died while working in the United States and help CDM continue the fight so that other workers do not face the same fate.

Registration is free, but very limited:

Cien Cenas
Tweet using the hashtag #CienCenas2013 / #Network4Cause! We’ll be there: @CDMigrante @EricRatinoff @AngelaRunsAmuck @ChicasLatinas

And that’s not even the good news…

The good news: if you’re not able to make this month’s event, there will be one next month! Because this is a free event, registration fills up fast, but there will always be another opportunity to mix and mingle for a cause, and with Sacramento’s top movers and shakers. Even better news: this is a monthly (reoccurring) event that will benefit a different organization / cause, each month!  Does your nonprofit organization want to be a featured fundraiser? Contact me: @AngelaRunsAmuck / /

Mark your calendars for 12/3/2013 and 1/9/2013, see you soon!

Angela (now) Runs Amuck for Eric Ratinoff and Chicas Latinas de Sacramento!

You heard right folks, Angela got a job.

A real, legit, frozen meals for lunch, no yoga pants allowed (but pack them in your gym bag) J.O.B. and I’m loving it!

The blog posts will continue coming because my Amuck Running (or marketing life) has not come to an end – it’s only just begun. I now do business development and marketing for Eric Ratinoff of Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff, on top of running Chicas Latinas de Sacramento. The transition has kept me busy, but I’m finally getting back to a blog-able place in my life.

Angelarunsamuck’s life now…

Work head-shots are in:

Working for Attorney and Partner Eric Ratinoff has been a really great fit as his passions are very much in line with my own passions: community, culture (including Latin), and food. Factor in my social media skills, marketing experience, and community presence… I think we both kind of hit the jackpot on this one.

And then there’s my Chicas… which has me on cloud nine. Our Sept. 8th fundraiser brunch at Mayahuel was simply amazing! The venue, food, staff, performances, silent auction items, and attendees… everything was great! My Chicas members and board of directors shined, everyone did a stellar job in making this a fun and comfortable event, and we raised funds (so that was good).
